£19,370 pro rata

15 hours/ 2 days a week

Fixed Term Contract to 31st March 2013

We are looking for an experienced community development worker to coordinate and develop the Easton and Lawrence Hill Neighbourhood Forum. The successful applicant will have a track record as an effective community development worker, experience of working with diverse communities, a good understanding of the local area and knowledge of Bristol City Council and other service providers. 

If you have the experience and you are a positive person with the desire to make a difference this could be the job for you!

St Werburghs Resident Representation on the Partnership

Resident Lori Streich of St Werburghs has been nominated to serve as a St Werburghs Representative on the Ashley, Easton and Lawrence Hill Neighbourhood Partnership.  Residents from Ashley, who attend the Ashley Forum, will be able to cast a vote at the April 18th Meeting (6:30-8:30pm at Salvation Army, Ashley Road, BS6 5NL) to decide whether Lori will represent this area to the Partnership.  To find out more about Lori please view her nomination form here.

Wellbeing Grants Now Open

The next round of Well-being Grants from the Ashley Easton and Lawrence Hill Neighbourhood Partnership is now open for applications.

During this round the Partnership will award £12,000 worth of funding (£4,000 per ward).  Please follow these links for further information: application form, priorities and eligibility criteria.

The application deadline for this round is 8am on Monday the 28th of May.  Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. Applications should be either emailed to Richard Orna at ashleyforum@bristol.gov.uk or posted to:

If you would like any advice on project development please contact Diane Dodd on 0117 903 9932 or diane.dodd@bristol.gov.uk before Thursday the 3rd of May.

Finally, if you would like some insight into how the grant panel operates, or how they make decisions, why not consider becoming a panel member?  If you are submitting an application you are still able to be part of the panel, you are just not allowed to participate in discussions about your project. (Not participating in discussions or voting for your project will not disadvantage it in any way).  The only criteria you need to meet are:
1) You must be a resident of the Ashley, Easton or Lawrence Hill ward
2) Have an interest in influencing how local funds are spent
3) Be willing to give a maximum of 10 hours to the grant panel (Up to a maximum of 7 hours of prep for the panel, and 3 hours for a one off meeting)  The next grant panel meeting will be on Tuesday the 5th of June from 6-9pm.
